I am honored to have these crystals on loan from my friend Cheryl to aid me in my cleansing. From the top left they are: an elestial smoky quartz, jade, two calcites, and a seed crystal. The elestial is for grounding, bone health, and pulling things out of the body. It is a divine crystal that brings divine wisdom and enhances perception and adaptation to change. The jade is for cleansing and autoimmune issues like allergies. The two calcites are for sinus healing. The seed crystal is for gaining insight from the universe. I spent most of today working with these crystals. I did take my herbs and make sure I drank at least 8 glasses of warm water, and I did swedana again to help by body eliminate toxins. I am not very hungry, and since part of cleansing is getting in tune with your body, I have been eating only two meals the last two days. Today's breakfast/lunch was kitchari with rainbow sprouts and dinner was lemon beets. I walked with the dogs for exercise.
At the beginning of the day, I felt very achy and nauseous. Early in the morning I woke up and got the crystals from outside. I was exhausted so I put the elestial in one pajama pocket and the jade in the other and went back to sleep. When I woke up later, I felt much less achy. I believe that the crystals are helping my body to eliminate toxins. Off and on throughout the day, I meditated for many hours with these crystals, lying down with one calcite on each cheek over my sinuses. The cool crystal felt wonderful and soothing. Tonight I will get abhyanga again and meditate with the seed crystal in an effort to gain insights. I will report on how that goes tomorrow!
I have realized in the last three days just how much I work. I am still having to stop myself from checking emails and Facebook...although I did put out a request today for recommendations on inspirational literature. I give all my patients free access to me by text and email. How many health practitioners do you know who do that? What I have realized over the last few days is that my constantly being "on-call" has aggravated my Vata nature.
There have been studies done on people who constantly multi-task. These studies show that getting one's focused attention interrupted causes the release of stress-related chemicals in the brain. This causes the person over time to have problems with mental focus, memory, and feel ungrounded, to have slower metabolism, and stress related illnesses. This study is a scientific way of explaining the Ayurvedic idea of Vata imbalance. Vata is the air and space. Like the wind, it is inconsistent. So having this kind of inconsistent brain activity increases Vata in the body. When we are walking and texting, or in every free second checking our messages, this increases stress and Vata. I will be making a plan this week to partition my time. I will still give people access to me by text and email, but I will have set times when I check my messages.
