This year, the Summer Solstice on June 21 is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
In the Ayurvedic tradition, the solstice is celebrated by doing a Yoga practice of 108 Sun Salutations. This practice honors the sun, which feeds us during this growing season. To balance the heating qualities of the solar energy, the Yoga practice is followed by a cooling and calming meditation such as nadi shodhana (alternate nostril breath).
Whatever your tradition, I wish all of you a joyful Summer Solstice!
